What is AVID?
AVID is a nationally recognized non-profit college readiness system with the mission to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID is committed to providing students a more equitable experience in the classroom that is centered around their growth and personal academic goals. By the end of each year, students will have gained mastery in a number of areas and will build upon them in the next school year.
Preparing for the Future
By teaching and reinforcing academic behaviors and higher-level thinking at a young age, AVID creates a ripple effect in later grades. Students learn about organization, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy. Students develop the academic habits they will need to be successful throughout their educational journey, in an age-appropriate and challenging way.
As an AVID campus, college and careers are no longer foreign concepts, and teachers provide the academic foundation students need to be on a path for college and career success. The opportunity gap is closed before it begins. Each day students will be encouraged students to think about their college and career plans.

The power of AVID is the ability to not only positively impact their classmates but their community. AVID gives students the ability to lead others by teaching, make better academic and personal choices, and build confidence inside and outside the classroom.
